Aina Abdul: I am not a fashion victim!
Updated over a year ago

Aina Abdul has denied the notion that she is a fashion victim, amid the backlash over her wardrobe of choice on the recent episode of the reality show, "Big Stage".

The singer, who rubbed people the wrong way with her colourful "mattress and blanket" style outfit that she wore when she appeared as the jury on the fourth episode of the show, stated that it was her intention to provoke the public with her style.

"I chose that wardrobe to fit the theme, which is the turbulence of feelings. I thought the image will earn some entertaining comments since I have worn something even bigger and baggier than that," she said.

However, Aina admitted that the comments she received this time around was quite too much.

"Aside from face shaming, some netizens even wanted to boycott me because of my style when I have spent thousands to maintain my looks as a celebrity," she said.

Although there were harsh comments, a lot of netizens had fun turning the outfit, designed by MSYD, into memes, just like they always had with many of her outfits. Some commented that the reason people were angry with the outfit was due to the fact that it didn't fit the occasion, as she was there as a judge and not a performer.

According to MSYD, the outfit is called "A wave of emotions". The designer expressed, "People experience a variety of emotions, ranging from some of the happiest and most euphoric feelings to some of the greatest anxieties and deepest sorrows. At the end of the day, the bed is the place we let it all out."

Aina's latest outfit had people slamming her for being over-the-top
